Lieutenants

What they are. High-value bosses with unique loadouts and distinct fighting styles, sometimes with loyal escorts, more health and customised weapons ^{[1] [2]}. They may be active whether you track them or not, so check their known territories ^[3].

Finding one. Buy intel at the Boss Board: it unlocks through set challenges in earlier deployments and lasts one deployment ^[2]. Or climb a Lieutenant Hunt tower and use the Upload Station at the top to mark the nearest Lieutenant (Side Ops) ^{[2] [3]}.

The kill. A large DMZ Cash bonus, DMZ XP, a rare chance of their iconic weapon, sometimes a Key to their own loot room (Keys and locked loot rooms), and always a Lieutenant Dog Tag Case ^{[2] [3]}. After the kill the tag shows on every Operator's Tac-Map, and picking up the Case also broadcasts your position, so a fast exfil is safest; extracting with the Case advances the Boss Board, even if you took it from another player (Dog Tags). Repeated Lieutenant kills earn rewards the guide keeps classified ^[2].

Named so far. Gorani and The Warden (official field reports); roze (reported from posts). bale appears in the guide without a rank. The 9 Oct guide's images show three Lieutenants without names, among them a hooded sniper whom community accounts call Iskra from Modern Warfare (2019); not confirmed ^[2].
